Committee Against Torture

Norway will be examined by the UN Committee Against Torture (CAT) - which is responsible for monitoring the implementation of the Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment - at its 49th session, 29 October - 23 November 2012.

Human Rights Committee (civil and political rights)

Norway was examined by the Country Report Task Forces of the UN Human Rights Committee (HRC) - which is responsible for monitoring the implementation of civil and political rights as defined in the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights - at its 101st session, 11 March - 1 April 2011, in New York. This was in preparation for a full examination to be conducted by the HRC at a future session.

Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women

Norway was examined by the UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) - which is responsible for monitoring the implementation of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women - at its 51st session, 13 February - 2 March 2012, in New York.
