Human Rights Committee (civil and political rights)

Malawi was examined by the Country Report Task Forces of the UN Human Rights Committee (HRC) - which is responsible for monitoring the implementation of civil and political rights as defined in the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights - at its 101st session, 11 March - 1 April 2011, in New York. This was in preparation for a full examination to be conducted by the HRC at a future session.

Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women

Malawi was examined by the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) - which is responsible for monitoring the implementation of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women - at its 45th session, 18 January - 5 February 2010 in Geneva.

Committee on the Rights of the Child

Malawi was examined by the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child (CRC) - which is responsible for monitoring the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child - at its 50th session, 12-30 January 2009.
