Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights
Egypt will be examined by a Pre-Sessional Working Group of the UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (CESCR) - which is responsible for monitoring the implementation of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights - during the period 3-7 December 2012 in Geneva. This is in preparation of a full examination to be conducted by the CESCR at a future session.
NGOs - including churches and related organizations - can submit written information in the form of a "parallel" report concerning the status of implementation of economic, social and cultural rights in Germany. NGOs should deliver 15 copies of their report and summary to the secretariat a week prior to the session for distribution to Committee members. Where possible, it is useful to submit a summary of the report in all the working languages of the Committee. Communication regarding submissions to the Committee may be addressed to gro.rhcho|rcsec#gro.rhcho|rcsec.

Committee on the Rights of the Child
Egypt was examined by the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child (CRC) - which is responsible for monitoring the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child - at its 57th session, 30 May - 17 June 2011 in Geneva, including on issues related to children in armed conflict and sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography.
Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women
Egypt was examined by the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) - which is responsible for monitoring the implementation of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women - at its 45th session, 18 January - 5 February 2010 in Geneva.
