Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights

Argentina was examined by the UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (CESCR) - which is responsible for monitoring the implementation of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights - at its 47th session, 14 November - 2 December 2011 in Geneva.

NGOs - including churches and related organizations - can submit written information in the form of a "parallel" report concerning the status of implementation of economic, social and cultural rights in Argentina. NGOs should deliver 25 copies of their report and summary to the secretariat a week prior to the session for distribution to Committee members. Where possible, it is useful to submit a summary of the report in all the working languages of the Committee. Communication regarding submissions to the Committee may be addressed to gro.rhcho|rcsec#gro.rhcho|rcsec.

Committee on Migrant Workers

A preliminary review of Argentina was undertaken by the UN Committee on Migrant Workers (CMW) - which is responsible for monitoring the implementation of the International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families - at its 14th session, 4-8 April 2011 in Geneva.

The UN Special Rapporteur on adequate housing as a component of the right to an adequate standard of living, and on the right to non-discrimination in this context will visit Argentina on 13-22 April 2011.
